Hello. Thank you for visiting my website! I am an Assistant Professor of Leadership Studies in the Jepson School of Leadership Studies at the University of Richmond.
My work focuses on educational inequality and social justice. More specifically, I study how education policies, community characteristics, and familial background interplay in shaping student educational outcomes in the United States and across the world. I am especially interested in how these characteristics advance or impede the educational achievement and attainment, and thus the assimilation trajectories, of immigrant youth. Methodologically, I am interested in research design and causal inference with observational data.
My research has been published or is forthcoming in Sociological Science; Sociological Perspectives, British Journal of Sociology of Education; Socius; The Social Science Journal; Compare: A Journal of Comparative and International Education; Globalisation, Societies and Education; European Education; PLOS One; and the International Journal of Sociology of Education.
